Understanding permission levels and what you can do in AutomaDoc.
Lark Base permission levels
Section titled “Lark Base permission levels”AutomaDoc respects your Lark Base permissions. Your access level determines what you can do:
Full Access / Editor
Section titled “Full Access / Editor”- Create new templates
- Upload and modify template files
- Configure template settings (PDF, compression, save location)
- Delete templates
- Generate documents from any template
View only
Section titled “View only”- Generate documents from existing templates
- View template list and settings (read-only)
- Cannot create, modify, or delete templates
How to check your permission
Section titled “How to check your permission”If you have View-only access, you will see:
- A lock icon next to templates
- A “View only” message instead of edit buttons
- No Create Template option
Getting Editor access
Section titled “Getting Editor access”To create or modify templates, you need Editor access on the Lark Base. Ask the Base owner to:
- Open the Base in Lark.
- Click the Share button.
- Find your name in the collaborator list.
- Change your permission from Can view to Can edit.
Known limitations
Section titled “Known limitations”Due to Lark API restrictions:
- Editors who don’t have permission to share the Base may be detected as viewers.
- This is a Lark platform limitation, not an AutomaDoc limitation.
- Workaround: ask the Base owner to grant you temporary sharing permissions.
